The Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality is a rural municipality located in the Sekhukhune District of Limpopo Province. It shares boarders with Elias Motsoaledi, Fetakgomo, Ephraim Mogale and Lepelle-Nkumpi municipalities.
The name Makhuduthamaga referes to "executives", a historical term linked to the Fetakgomo movement of the 1950s. The municipality serves a population of over 270 000 residents, with Sepedi being the dominant language across communities.
Fields of Study Funded
For the 2026 academic year, bursaries are available for undergraduate studies in the following priority areas:
- Accounting
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Economics
- Environmental Science
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Regional & Town Planning
- Waste Management
Applicants must be permanent residents within the Makhuduthamaga municipal area.

The bursary provides full financial support, which includes:

- Meals
Selection Process
Applications are assessed based on:
- Academic performance
- Financial need

Who can Apply?
To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Reside within Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality (Limpopo)
- Be in Matric or have already completed Matric
- Intend to study full-time in 2026 towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the listed fields
- Be accepted or provisionally accepted at a registered and accredited South African instituton
- Have a good academic record
- Demonstrate financial need
