ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER

A regulator of financial institutions that offer financial services and products is the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA). The FSCA oversees regulating and overseeing market conduct.

Up until 2018, the Financial Services Board (FSB), the South African government's financial regulatory body in charge of non-banking financial services, was replaced by the FSCA.

FIELDS COVERED

For the 2026 academic year, students are being invited to apply for the Financial Sector Conduct Authority's (FSCA) Bursary Program.

Students with disabilities will receive bursaries for undergraduate study in the following fields:

  • Law (Bachelor of Laws degree)
  • Data Science
  • Finance (BCom)
  • Business Management
  • Economics (BCom)

BURSARY COVERAGE, CONTRACT & SELECTION

The following costs will be covered by the bursary: tuition, registration fees, required texts, housing, and meals. A monthly stipend for incidental costs and helpful learning tools, such as a computer, Zoom Text software, a wheelchair, a Jaws Reader, or any other device prescribed by a physician, will also be provided by the bursary.

Funding will be provided to students for the whole time they are enrolled.

Students will have to sign a work-back contract with the FSCA after they graduate. The length of the funding period will be the same as the employment time. Additionally, both while and after their studies are finished, recipients will gain experience learning.

Candidates that make the short list will be notified; if you don't hear back, consider your application unsuccessful.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Before applying, candidates must meet the following minimal standards:

  • You must be a citizen of South Africa.
  • You must be enrolled in or have completed Matric.
  • You must have a disability.
  • You must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in one of the aforementioned fields of study full-time or plan to do so.
  • You must be enrolled in, or plan to enroll in, an accredited university in South Africa or another recognized higher education establishment.

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE FCSA BURSARY

To apply, go to theFSCA 2026 Bursary Applications for Students with Disabilities(reference number: DIS 2026/29).

Together with your online application, send in clear copies of the following supporting material:

  • ID card or document (certified copy)
  • Mid-year or most recent Matric results, if you're enrolled in Matric (certified copy)
  • If completed, a certified copy of your Matric certificate
  • A letter of motivation to back up your application
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Proof of permanent disability: a medical professional's letter
  • Guardians or parents’ proof of household income, such as the most recent payslips for those who are employed, an affidavit for those who are not, or, if relevant, proof of a pension or social grant.
