ACWA Power is an international leader in renewable energy and water solutions, with operations spanning several emerging markets. Headqutered in Saudi Arabia, the company focuses on delivering affordable, reliable and sustainable power while supporting long-term community development.

In South Africa, ACWA Power is behind the Redstone Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) Project, a landmark renewable energy initiative in the Northern Cape. This project uses advanced solar technology with thermal storage allowing electricity generation even after sunset. Once fully operational, the plant will supply 100 MW of clean energy, strengthening energy security and supporting the country's transition to a low-carbon future.

Fields of study supported


Through its Redstone CPS Bursary Programme, ACWA Power is offering financial support for the 2026 academic year.

The bursary is open to undergraduate studies in ANY field of study.

This opportunity is aimed at empowering local youth to pursue higher education, regardless of their chosen qualification.

What the bursary covers

Successful applicants will receive full financial support, which include:
  • Tuition and registration fees
  • Prescribed books
  • Accomodation
  • Meals
  • A monthly stipend

Who Can Apply


To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  • Plan to study or already be studying towards an undergraduate qualification in 2026
  • Be registered or accepted at a public university or university of technology in South Africa
  • Demonstrate financial need

  • Motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary
