Black Rock Mine, part of Assmang's Manganese Division is a long-running underground mining operation based in the Northern Cape. The mine forms part of a joint venture between African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) and Assore Limited, and is known for modern mining technology, skills development and safe operations. As one of South Africa's key manganese producers, the mine plays a major role in supplying both local and international markets while uplifting nearby communities.

Who Can Apply (Eligibility Requirements)
- Be a South African citizen aged 18-35
- Be in Matric or have completed Matric with a Bachelor's pass
- Be accepted or provisionally accepted for full-time study in 2026
- Be studying at an accredited SA University or University of Technology
- Have a strong academic result (minimum B average)
- Not be receiving any other bursary
- Preference is given to:
- Students living with disabilities
- Students from disadvantaged communities in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality
