Fields Covered
AWS Skills Development Bursary 2026 (for the Pool of Candidates) Prospective students who have achieved in courses related fields. Both Undergraduates and Post-graduates can apply for bursaries:
Undergraduate Degrees:
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance)
- BEd (MATHS AND SCIENCE)
- And All Types of Civil & Electrical Engineering Practical's.
- Computer Science / Computer Engineering
- Information Technology
Postgraduate (Honours, Masters, Postgraduate Diploma):
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance)
- CEEEMM: Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic and Mechanical Engineering
- Computer Science / Computer Engineering
- Information Technology
- Special consideration: Students with disabilities can apply for bursaries in any programme.
Expenses Covered & Opportunities
The award is granted on the basis of academic standing and financial need. The full-cost bursary may cover:
- Tuition fees
- Books and stationery
- Personal computer
- Accommodation (residence or private)
- Meals and subsistence
Recipients may also receive mentorship and development with AWS, and may be asked to participate in service-related contracts.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligible candidates should have the following prescribed qualifications:
- South African citizen
- Currently in Matric or Passed Matric
- Enrolled or plans to be enrolled on a full-time basis in an eligible course of study, 2026
- Registered at a well-reputed and an accredited institute in South Africa
- Minimum Matric Pass rates: 75% Mathematics and Physical Science, 65% ENG HL or 70% for ENG FAL.
- Overall tertiary average - 65% minimum (if currently enrolled)
- The very good academic record and good leadership qualities.
- Preference will be given to student with disabilities; however, all eligible students are welcome to apply.

Required Documents
Certified copy of each of the following must be submitted by applicant:
- Recent head-and-shoulders photograph
- South African ID document
- Grade 11 end of year results and June results (if you are in Matric)
- Matric certificate (if completed Matric)
- Full academic transcript or latest tertiary results
- Proof of parents’/guardians’ household income
- Death certificates of parents (if deceased)
- Court correspondence/affidavits about child support (if applicable)
- Proof of disability (if applicable)
Incomplete applications will not be considered for employment.
