Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a product of Amazon. com, a worldwide E-commerce company along with cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. Founded in 2006, AWS delivers on-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs to individuals, companies, and governments, on a metered pay-as-you-go basis. Today, AWS serves millions of customers across more than 190 countries and provides a trusted cloud platform that is secure, scalable, and cost-effective.


Fields Covered

AWS Skills Development Bursary 2026 (for the Pool of Candidates) Prospective students who have achieved in courses related fields. Both Undergraduates and Post-graduates can apply for bursaries:

Undergraduate Degrees:

  1. Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance)
  2. BEd (MATHS AND SCIENCE)
  3. And All Types of Civil & Electrical Engineering Practical's.
  4. Computer Science / Computer Engineering
  5. Information Technology

Postgraduate (Honours, Masters, Postgraduate Diploma):

  1. Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance)
  2. CEEEMM: Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic and Mechanical Engineering
  3. Computer Science / Computer Engineering
  4. Information Technology
  5. Special consideration: Students with disabilities can apply for bursaries in any programme.


Expenses Covered & Opportunities

The award is granted on the basis of academic standing and financial need. The full-cost bursary may cover:

  1. Tuition fees
  2. Books and stationery
  3. Personal computer
  4. Accommodation (residence or private)
  5. Meals and subsistence

Recipients may also receive mentorship and development with AWS, and may be asked to participate in service-related contracts.


Eligibility Requirements

The eligible candidates should have the following prescribed qualifications: 

  1. South African citizen
  2. Currently in Matric or Passed Matric
  3. Enrolled or plans to be enrolled on a full-time basis in an eligible course of study, 2026
  4. Registered at a well-reputed and an accredited institute in South Africa
  5. Minimum Matric Pass rates: 75% Mathematics and Physical Science, 65% ENG HL or 70% for ENG FAL.
  6. Overall tertiary average - 65% minimum (if currently enrolled)
  7. The very good academic record and good leadership qualities.
  8. Preference will be given to student with disabilities; however, all eligible students are welcome to apply.

Required Documents

Certified copy of each of the following must be submitted by applicant:

  1. Recent head-and-shoulders photograph
  2. South African ID document
  3. Grade 11 end of year results and June results (if you are in Matric)
  4. Matric certificate (if completed Matric)
  5. Full academic transcript or latest tertiary results
  6. Proof of parents’/guardians’ household income
  7. Death certificates of parents (if deceased)
  8. Court correspondence/affidavits about child support (if applicable)
  9. Proof of disability (if applicable)

Incomplete applications will not be considered for employment.
