The Ingquza Hill Local Municipality Bursary 2026 is specifically intended for supporting financially disadvantaged students from the Eastern Cape who want to further their undergraduate studies in priority areas. Through the bursary scheme, the municipality is set to empower the youth, alleviate poverty and develop skills which will go a long way in the development of the municipality. Ingquza Hill Local Municipality was previously known as Qaukeni Municipality and it is among five local municipalities that fall under OR Tambo District Municipality in the Eastern Cape. This region is also faced with various socio-economic challenges such as high levels of poverty and unemployment. As part of the development strategy implemented by the municipality in the region, education and skills development are highly emphasized.
The municipality invites eligible students to apply for a place in the intake of students to receive a bursary award offer to pursue studies in the 2026. A total of 20 bursaries will be awarded to learners who reside within the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality and wish to study for an undergraduate degree at universities within South Africa.

- Electrical Engineering
- Financial Accounting (Chartered Accountant stream)
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Maritime Studies

Eligibility Requirements
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Permanently reside within the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality (Eastern Cape)
- Have completed Matric
- Intend to study towards an undergraduate qualification in 2026
- Have been accepted or provisionally acepted at a recognised and accredited South African university
- Meet the admission requirements of the chosen institution
- Come from a household with a total income of not more than R350 000 per year
- Be willing to read and agree to the municipality's bursary policy

- Proof of application, acceptance or provisional acceptance from the institution
- Quotation for registration fees
- Fee quotation for tuition, accomodation and prescribed textbooks (for continuing students)
- Parents' or guardians' proof of income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, or SASSA proof if applicable)
- Proof of residence
