ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER

BURSARY COVERAGE,BENEFITS AND SELECTION
The following costs will be covered by the bursary: tuition, books, meals, housing costs, and residence fees.
The following benefits will be made available to bursary recipients: social and emotional support, training in life skills and work readiness, mentoring and counselling, access to a dedicated program manager, exposure to seasoned chartered accountants and business leaders as mentors, and academic support (including various academic enrichment programs: additional tutorials, study skills workshops, etc.).
Existing debts and loans will not be covered by the Thuthuka Bursary.
Recipients of the bursary will have to sign an agreement with NSFAS and the Thuthuka Education and Upliftment Fund (TEUF).
Annual bursaries are given out, and the fund may decide to renew them. Three primary factors will be used to choose candidates: academic performance, financial need as assessed by the National Benchmark Test (NBT) results, and financial need as assessed by the NSFAS financial means test.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Before applying, candidates must meet the following minimal standards:.
- You have to be a citizen of South Africa.
- You must be a Black African or Coloured student
- You must come from a low-income family and either be enrolled in or have finished Matric within the last two years.
- You must have received at least 60% (level 5) in mathematics in grade 11 (not technical mathematics or mathematics literacy).
- In 2026, you must be pursuing or plan to pursue one of the aforementioned credentials.
- To pursue one of the aforementioned degrees at one of the SAICA-accredited colleges, you must have applied or be in the process of applying.
- You and your family must earn no more than R350 000 annually.
- Prior to the bursary closing date, you must have completed or plan to complete the National Benchmark Tests (NBT).
if you don't meet them all, your application won't be taken into consideration
APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE SAICA THUTHUKA BURSARY
Submit your application online viathe SAICA Thuthuka 2026 Bursary Application portal.
Along with your application, send in clear copies of the following supporting material (submission of these documents is required; failure to do so may result in your application being rejected):
- Identity document (certified copy)
- Final grades for grade 11 (certified copy)
- latest results from Matric, if you're enrolled in Matric (certified copy)
- Final Matric results, if finished (certified copy)
- Evidence of preliminary acceptance or registration at the university, if enrolled in Matric (on university letterhead)
- Complete academic record from the university, if enrolled, on official university letterhead
- ID documents of parents or guardians (certified copies)
- Proof of income from parents or guardians (certified copies of the most recent payslips if they are employed, or an affidavit if they are unemployed)
- IDs or certified copies of the birth certificates of any additional dependents on your family income
- Thuthuka Consent Formsigned
