ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER

Established in 1861, Golden Arrow Bus Services (Pty) Ltd is a prominent public transportation bus service provider in Cape Town, transporting passengers over the Cape Flats and Metropolitan Cape Peninsula.

GABS, which is owned by the South African holding corporation Hosken Consolidated Investments Limited, now runs over 1000 buses on more than 1300 routes

The "Golden Arrow Way" is a collection of six guiding principles that govern everything Golden Arrow does. These include : Developing Talent, Passenger-centered, Community-oriented, Affordability, and Reliability.

FIELDS COVERED

Bursaries will be given to students pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science.

BURSARY COVERAGE, CONTRACT, AND SELECTION

Tuition fees, transportation, housing (based on the actual costs incurred by the university), and a monthly allowance (a stipend to cover incidental and reasonable costs, of R4,000 per month or as GABS shall determine from time to time) are all covered by the bursary.

After graduating, recipients of bursaries will have to work at Golden Arrow Bus Services for a year for every year of support.

Those who make the short list will be contacted and given an interview invitation; if you don't hear back, consider your application unsuccessful.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Before applying, candidates must meet the following minimal standards:

• You have to be a citizen of South Africa.
• You must begin your second or subsequent year of study in 2025 and be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
• It is required that your total household income not exceed R400 000 year, or R600 000 annually if you have a disability.
• All beneficiaries of SASSA grants are eligible to receive funds.
• You have to agree to work with Golden Arrow for the duration of the financed years.

Note: Students can apply for this bursary by just submitting the materials listed below; no application form needs to be filled out.

Together with your filled-out application, send in clear copies of the following supporting papers:

• Identity document (certified copy)
• Certificate of Matriculation (certified copy)
• Previous Transcripts of prior coursework (certified copy)
• Proof of enrolment: an official letterhead from the educational institution
• evaluation report
• Proof of Address
• Guardians or parents evidence of family income (last three months' worth of bank statements, or most recent pay slips if you're employed, or an affidavit if you're unemployed)
• Letters of recommendation from professional referees or academics
• If disabled, a report on the disability assessment
• If orphaned: parent's death certificate

you must provide these documents; otherwise, your application may be rejected
