ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER

One of the top producers of aluminum goods in South Africa is Hulamin, which specializes in rolled and extruded aluminium solutions for a range of sectors. Hulamin, which was founded in 1935 and has its headquarters in Pietermaritzburg, is a key supplier of premium aluminum for industries like renewable energy, packaging, automotive, and construction. The business actively seeks to lessen its environmental impact and is renowned for its dedication to innovation, sustainability, and recycling. Due in large part to the widespread recognition of its products both domestically and abroad, Hulamin has established a solid reputation as a reliable supplier in the global aluminum industry.

FIELDS COVERED

Students are encouraged to apply for Hulamin's bursary program for the 2025 school year.

Funding will be given for undergraduate studies in the fields that follow (BSc and BEng):

  • Analytics Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mathematics
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Metallurgical Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Statistics

BURSARY COVERAGE AND SELECTION

The following costs will be covered by the bursary: registration fees, tuition, housing, meal and book allowances, laptop, and health insurance.

During university breaks, students will also be able to participate in paid vacation work.

Candidates who make the short list will be notified; if you don't hear back by this date, consider your application unsuccessful. Before the final selection, candidates will need to finish a medical report and a psychometric test.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Before applying, candidates must meet the following basic criteria:

  • You have to be a citizen of South Africa.
  • You have to come from a historically underprivileged background and be enrolled in or have finished Matric.
  • You must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in one of the above mentioned fields of study, or plan to do so.
  • You must fulfill the prerequisites for admission to the academic program of your choice.
  • In 2025, you have to be starting your first or fourth year of undergraduate studies.
  • You must be enrolled in, or have been admitted to, a South African university that is recognized and approved.

if you don't meet them all, your application won't be taken into consideration.

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE  HULAMIN BURSARY

Download and complete Hulamin Bursary Application Form 2025

Together with your filled-out application, send in clear copies of the following supporting papers:

  • Identity document (certified copy)
  • latest results from Matric, if you're enrolled in Matric (certified copy)
  • If completed, a certified copy of your Matric certificate
  • A certified copy of your most recent academic record and results
  • Evidence of enrollment or acceptance at the institution (on official university letterhead)
  • A brief curriculum vitae (no more than two pages)
  • Applications must be sent to training@hulamin.co.za by email.
