Amandla Omoya Trust Bursary for South African 2025

 

The Amandla Omoya Trust is a nonprofit organisation, which generates support for education in Africa, across the continent / world.

The Amandla Omoya Trust is a community trust with shares in the Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm. It was founded in 2012, focused on supporting good causes within a 50km radius of the wind farm, offering funding to help them invest back into the region. The projects serve to strengthen community resilience, foster community connectivity and enhance the health and wellness in the communities within Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, Hankey, Patensie Loerie, Weston and Thornhill.


COVERAGE VALUE

The receiving of the grant will support with costs such as:

  1. Registration fees
  2. Tuition and examination fees
  3. Study materials
  4. Accommodation and meals

The specific bursary amount will be awarded to deserving students based on their financial status at the point of application, as well as academic performance.


FIELDS COVERED

Amandla Omoya Trust Bursary is available to those living in the 50km radius of Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm (Eastern Cape).

Bursaries will be awarded for study within any field of study to a minimum NQF level 6 qualification:

  1. Technical and Vocational (Plumbing, Bricks-layering etc.)
  2. National Diploma programmes
  3. Degree programmes


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet the following entrance minimum criteria to be eligible:

  1. Must be a South African national
  2. Be based within 50km of the JEFFREYS BAY WIND FARM (i.e in/around Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, Hankey, Patensie Loerie,Thornhill & Weston.
  3. Currently in Matric or Completed Matric
  4. Must be studying or plan to study full time towards a Degree/National Diploma/Honours/ NQF 6 qualifications.
  5. Ordinarily resident in South Africa and must have been accepted to study at a recognised tertiary institution (University/ University of Technology/ TVET College)
  6. Must be of low financial means and not in a position to pay for their Tertiary Education themselves.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

General regsistration Procedure for application Applicants should submit the general regsitration form together with the following documents Certified copies:

  1. South African ID document
  2. Matric certificate or latest results
  3. Most recent academic results (if you are currently studying)
  4. Acceptance at a tertiary institution Letter or proof on head of institutions letterhead.
  5. Proof of residential address
  6. Proof of household income (current payslips/ affidavit if unemployed or pension / SASSA grant).
  7. Disqualified applications will be issued to those who do not fully adhere to the above requirements.
