LPGSA Bursary for 2026

 


 A professional society representing the interests of all graduates in South Africa, whether they have graduated in any approved Institution.

THE LPGSA IS A NON-PROFIT COMPANY INCORPORATED IN 1987. It includes member companies that engage in such processes as installation, maintenance and servicing of equipment used in the LPG industry.

The role of LPGSA is to develop a sustainable, propane suffering gas market in South Africa. The organization also enforces safety mandates and ethical business practices. The IGE is also responsible for training LPG installers, certifying gas appliances and other related products, as well as providing advice and support to members.


8 female learners are awarded an LPGSA Bursary annually that includes the LPG Residential Installation Course (theory and practical) and SAQCC registration.

Winners will be contacted via phone or email and details posted on the LPGSA website and social media within 4 weeks of the close of competition.


FIELDS COVERED

8 scholarships will be granted to female students on the LPG Residential Installation Course, which consists of:

  1. Theoretical training
  2. Practical application
  3. SAQCC membership registration

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible, candidates must at least fulfil the below minimum requirements:

  1. South African citizenship is a pre-requisite
  2. Must be BB-BEE status rated and previously disadvantaged Background
  3. Must be female
  4. Aged between 18 and 45 years at the time of study.
  5. Prerequisite: Successful completion of English 9 or higher Stem (Grade 9 And Above) Or TVET Technical Science
  6. Please not be an employee or family member of LPGSA staff, competition sponsors, or a judge in the competition
  7. Must read and accept the terms and conditions of the bursary competition before applying

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Clear certified copies of the following documents must be submitted with their email application:

  1. South African ID
  2. Most recent school or TVET report (to be issued on an official letterhead)
  3. Presentation in PowerPoint (between 15 and 20 slides, in English)
  4. Your submission should be based on your community’s energy requirements and must include:
    • what sources of energy are used?
    • What effect would be using LPG have on energy consumption within your community?
    • What are the social and economic challenges associated with its adoption in LPG as far as you know, how would you deal with this?
    • What would it mean to you to become a Domestic LPG Engineer?

Successful applicants will be asked to present their PowerPoint to the selection panel (live / virtually).
