RAND WATER

 

Rand Water (previously known as the Rand Water Board) opened its doors on 8 January 1903.

Rand Water is South Africa’s biggest water utility company, which provides potable water to Gauteng and other areas of the country. Founded in 1903 and previously called the Rand Water Board, it is Africa’s largest water utility.

The business is involved in the purification and supply of water from sources to city and town municipalities as well as industries and mines. Rand Water is also integral to the sanitation of waste water. It has a huge network including over 3 000 km of pipelines with 58 reservoirs and delivers in excess of 3.5 billion litres daily.

  4. Corporate Communication: BCom (1 bursary – 2nd year student)
  5. Economics: BCom (2x bursaries- 2nd and 3rd year students)
  6. Electrical: N.Dip (2 bursaries – 2nd year students)
  7. Hydrology/Modelling: BSc Hons (1 bursary – 4th year student)
  8. Instruments and Process Control – Diploma (2 bursaries – 2nd year students)
  9. Maintenance Engineering: BIng (3 bursaries – 2nd year students)
  10. Mechanical Engineering: BEng (3 bursaries – 2 nd year students).
  11. Microbiology: BSc Hons (1 bursary – 2nd year student)
  12. Natural Science (Enviro Ed): BSc (2 bursaries – to 3rd year students)


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Eligibility: Candidates must satisfy the following minimum eligibility criteria:

  1. South African citizen under the age of 35
  2. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 or equivalent
  3. You must be full time student of any one of the aforementioned degrees.
  4. Must be enrolled at a South African Tertiary Institution recognized by the UJ.
  5. A minimum of 65% combined average in major subjects is required with good results
  6. Must have an interest in the water sector
  7. From a historically disadvantaged background
  8. Cannot hold any other bursary or financial support
  9. Self-motivated, result oriented, and good communication skills required
  10. Intention to complete the studies within the prescribed time period must further intend parties.
  11. Female students and students with disabilities are encouraged to apply in accordance with Rand Water Employment Equity plan.
