Siza Water (RF) (Pty) Ltd, a division of South African Water Works (SAWW), is the main water services provider for the Dolphin Coast in Kwazulu-Natal. The company manages water supply in areas stretching from Etete to Zimbali ensuring clean and reliable water for local households and businesses. Siza Water has been serving this community since 1999 and continues to invest in local development including education.


Fields covered 

Siza Water is offering bursaries for the 2026 academic year to students who live within their concession area and plan to study full-time.

Funding is available for studies in the following areas:

Engineering 

  • Chemical Engineering 
  • Civil Engineering 
  • Electrical Engineering 
  • Mechanical Engineering 
Environmental & Planning 
  • Environmental Management 
  • Town and Regional Planning 
Business & Operations
  • Financial Management 
  • Water & Sewere Treatment Process Control 
Trade Qualifications 
  • Electrician 
  • Millwright 
  • Fitter
  • Plumbing 

Expenses Covered

The Bursary will help pay for:
  • Tuition fees
  • Prescribed textbooks 
Funding can be renewed for up to 3 years as long as the student passes all subjects and submit updated results each year.

Selection Process

  • Documents & academic review 
  • Financial need assessment 
  • Interview and evaluation 
  • A formal letter of interest before the final award 

Eligibility Requirements 

To apply you must:
  • Be a South African citizen 
  • Be 21 years old or younger 
  • Live in the Siza Water concession area (Dolphin Coast, Kzn)
  • Be in Matric or have already completed Matric 
  • Plan to study full-time in one of the approved fields 
  • Be accepted or registered at an accredited South African institution (University, University of Technology, Technical/TVET College, SAQA-approved institution)
  • Have achieved: 
           - At least 65% average in 2025
           - At least 65% in the subject related to your chosen course 
  • Come from a household earning no more than R15 000 per month 
  • Meet the minimum entry requirements of your chosen institution 
  • Preference is given to female and Black applicants (African, Coloured, Indian)

  • Grade 11 results latest & Matric results/ certificate 
  • Latest academic transcript (if already studying)
  • 2026 acceptance/registration letter 
  • Proof of parents/guardians income (3 months payslips OR affidavit OR pension/ grant proof)
  • Statement of household income and expenses 
  • Death certificate (if parent/guardian is deceased)
  • Divorce certificate (if applicable)
  • Proof of disability (doctor's letter) if relevant 
  • Proof of residence: A signed letter from your Ward Councillor
