The PPS Foundation was established in 2016 for one specific purpose: to create opportunities for talented young South Africans in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. In the years since its inception, it has assisted over 100 students in tertiary education providing them with the necessary resources to excel and reach their full potential.
The foundation forms part of PPS, a specialised financial services organisation that provides insurance, investment and healthcare solutions exclusively for graduate professionals. As a mutual company, existing solely for the benefits of its members, PPS is unique in South Africa.
Fields Covered
The PPS Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 bursary programme. The bursary supports students pursuing degrees in:
- STEM fields - areas considered critical and in high demand in South Africa.
- Select Humanities programmes that meet the foundation's developmental focus.
- Academic performance and,
- Financial need.

Eligibility Requirements
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Plan to study full-time at a recognised public university of technology.
- Have a strong academic record and maintain a minimum average of 65%.
- Have a combined household income below R1 million per year.
- Preferably be pursuing a qualification in STEM, although some Humanities fields will be considered.
Required Documents
- Certified copy of your ID (not older than 3 months)
- Matric certificate or statement of results if your certificate is not yet issued.
- Your full academic transcript, including latest results (on university letterhead).
- Proof of registration for the current academic year.
- Financial statement from your university's student finance office.
- Pro forma book invoice for prescribed textbooks.
- Lease agreement, if staying in private accommodation.
- Parents\guardian income proof of payslips, affidavits, grant\pension proof or death certificate (if applicable)
- Preliminary results must be submitted by 20 December 2025.
- Final results must be submitted by 16 January 2026 if shortlisted.
