Tomorrow Trust Bursary Scheme 2026



The Tomorrow Trust is a South African nonprofit organization that empowers orphaned and vulnerable young people. It aims to bridge educational and emotional gaps through academic support, life-skills training and long-term mentorship. All programs from early schooling support to career development are specially geared at equipping students with what they need to thrive, study with confidence and eventually make a meaningful contribution to their communities.


Fields of studies

Applications for the Tomorrow Trust 2026 bursary cycle are now open. The bursary targets students pursuing STEM degrees: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at undergraduate or postgraduate level.


Eligibility Requirements 

To qualify for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen, aged 18 to 31.
  • Must be in Matric or already have completed Matric.
  • Must plan to study full-time towards a first undergraduate or first postgraduate qualification in a recognized STEM field.
  • Must be accepted or registered at a public university in South Africa.
  • Must be a first-generation university student (parents do not hold degrees with a few exceptions for incomplete studies or specific financial circumstances).
  • Must not be employed full-time.
  • Must not receive any full study funding, including NSFAS (partial aid or merit awards are unacceptable).
  • Family income must be below 350 000 per year.

Required Supporting Documents 

Applicants must upload the following documents when submitting their online application. Ensure that every file is clear, certified where needed and complete. Missing documents may cause your application to be reject or unsuccessful:
  • Certified copy of your ID document.
  • Most recent Matric results if still in Grade 12 (certified)
  • Full academic transcript for current university students (certified)
  • Postgraduate applicants: certified copies of completed qualifications.
  • Proof of registration or acceptance at a public university.
  • Household income documents: recent payslips, affidavits, bank statement or SASSA proof depending on your family situation.
