The Bakwena Platinum Corridor manages and upgrade two major national roads, the N1 and N4 routes that connect Pretoria to Bela-Bela, Rustenburg, Zeerust and right up to the Botswana border. Their work keeps these key road networks safe, reliable and well maintained for thousands of daily travellers.
This bursary comes from people who literally build the roads we all use, now they want to help build your future too.
Fields Covered
Applications are open for the 2026 academic year, and the fund welcomes students studying any undergraduate course.
Priority is given to students who live within 6km of the N1N4 Bakwena route, but all eligible applicants can apply.
No matter what you are studying, teaching, IT, Medicine, Engineering, Arts, Accounting, this could be your shot at extra support.
What the bursary Covers
The program offers partial tuition assistance up to R35 000, which is paid directly to your university.
The bursary runs for one academic year, with the possibility of renewal if funds allow and your grades remain strong.
A little funding can go a long way, and this support might be exactly what keeps your studies on track.
Who can Apply (Eligibility)
To be considered, you need to meet these guidelines:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Studying any field at a recognised South African university
- Must be entering 2nd year or higher in 2026
- Must have at least 60% average at university
- Prefarably living close to the Bakwena N1N4 route (Pretoria to Bela-Bela, and Pretoria to Rustenburg to Zeerust to Botswana border)
