Minopex is a South African mining services firm, focusing on the operation and management of mineral processing facilities. Minopex partners with mine operations in their endeavour to enhance efficiency, safety and performance. Minopex, through its bursary, sponsors students who aspire to make a career in engineering and mineral processing.
The Minopex Bursary Awards for 2026 are targeted at helping outstanding students who are already progressing in their studies and have visible potential in the technical and engineering fields associated with the mining industry.
Fields of Study Covered
Bursaries will be awarded in the following qualifications:
- Chemical Engineering (BEng \ Advanced National Diploma)
- Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current - BEng)
- Mechanical Engineering (BEng)
- Metallurgical Engineering (BEng \ Advanced National Diploma)
Selection Criteria
- Only students in their 3rd or 4th year of study will be considered.
- Applicants must have achieved a minimum average of 70% in all subjects.
- Selection is based on academic performance, commitment to studies and suitability for the mining sector.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Must be s South African citizen
- Must have completed Matric
- Must be studying towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the listed fields
- Must be entering 3rd or 4th year of study in 2026
- Must have passed all subjects with a minimum of 70%
- Must be registered at a recognised and accredited university in South Africa
- Must demonstrate commitment and passion for engineering or metallurgy careers
